Our Broodstock
Here you will find detailed information on our broodstock. Before our move to the new facility we spent the previous 4 years building our broodstock at the old facility. We hand selected all of our corals and over the course of time have narrowed our broodstock down to those corals which have been the fastest growing and hardiest specimens. Whenever possible we obtained specimens from hobbiests who had already been growing them in their home aquariums.
The new facility was designed to house only what we had already collected and we will not be introducing any new species into our systems. While the list shows the majority of what we have, there are a number of other species we are growing but will not be introducing them into the list until we are able to produce enough to sell at a consistent level. As we expand our facility we may bring in new broodstock, but it will not be mixed with the existing inventory and will be categorized seperately.
Our policy in regards to aquaculture is to ensure there is a minimum of 50%-100% aquacultured tissue on all fragments before they are introduced into our catalog. This takes considerable time so many of the species we carry will only be offered in limited quantities and for limited times. We do not chop and sell wild colonies like many other growers. Our main goal is to be completely self sustainable and offer genuinly acuacultured specimens to the hobby.
